Drying truffle magic mushrooms - pictures |

Drying truffles using a heater with fan. After spreading out the magic mushrooms on a few newspapers the fan was turned on. I used several setups. Within 2-3 days the mushrooms were completely dry. The heater was on for about 3 hours and off for most of the time. Temperature in the room was about 18 Celcius. After 3 days the magic mushrooms were stored in plastic bags. The Mexicana were packed in a simple plastic bag. The Tampanensis were packed in several zip locked plastic bags. 100 grams of fresh Mexicana were turned into 42 grams dry. 100 grams of fresh Tampanensis were turned into 44 grams dry. |

At first I was disappointed. Fuck! White mold all over my fresh Tampanensis truffles. It turned out not to be a contamination, but mycelium still growing. So, there was nothing to worry about. |
